The cannon has magazines that hold multiple shells. When empty, the cannon will automatically reload. Stopping the reload marker in the green zone supercharges the next magazine. You can also reload before a magazine is empty by pressing the R key.

As you destroy your enemies, you will be rewarded with money which can be spent at checkpoints, so take out as many enemies as possible. There are 50 possible upgrades for your vehicle at the checkpoints. When your tank is strong enough, plow through the final enemy gate.
